For Empathetic young adults navigating anxiety & trauma in New York and massachusetts
EMDR Therapy & Brainspotting
Holistic therapy that works.
You’ve done the mental work — therapy, journaling, and reflecting and you understand your patterns and triggers. But still, something feels off. Your mind knows you’re okay, but your body hasn’t caught up. That disconnect can leave you feeling stuck, anxious, or overwhelmed.
You want to slow down and feel grounded, but life keeps pushing you from one goal to the next. Anxiety, old wounds, and past patterns still hold some control, even when you don’t want them to. Sometimes your body holds onto feelings and experiences that haven’t fully settled, even when your mind feels ready to move forward.
Can you relate…
EMDR and Brainspotting can help. These therapies go beyond words and thoughts to reach the deeper parts of your body and nervous system. They help release stuck emotions and tension that keep you from feeling fully present.
EMDR and Brainspotting guides you to heal parts of your past that the mind alone can’t reach. These therapies help you tune into your body’s wisdom and move through overwhelm. Together, they support you in feeling more grounded, calm, and authentically yourself. If you’re ready to move past feeling stuck and find lasting relief from anxiety and trauma, EMDR and Brainspotting may be the right path for you.

I offer EMDR and Brainspotting specifically for you.
EMDR and Brainspotting are evidence-based therapies that go beyond talk therapy to engage both the mind and body. They target the root of what’s keeping you stuck, rather than just managing symptoms. These approaches are effective for reducing anxiety, stress, and overwhelm, helping to restore a deeper sense of calm, balance, and connection in daily life. By tuning into the body’s natural healing capacity, they support lasting healing and growth.
EMDR & Brainspotting can help to…
Restore your energy
Relieve feelings of anxiety and overwhelm
Renew your sense of self
So you can…
Feel more confident
Embrace your authentic self
Build lasting calm and resilience
What is EMDR?
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), is a structured 8 phase model that goes beyond talk therapy. It helps you heal from difficult experiences and negative beliefs about yourself. EMDR uses bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements, sounds, or tapping to activate both sides of the brain. During sessions, you’ll be guided to stay aware of the present moment while also gently focusing on past memories. This helps your brain reprocess those memories and change how they affect you, so you can move forward feeling freer and less stuck.
What is an EMDR session like?
We start by talking about your goals and what you would like to focus on. Before working on painful memories or beliefs, we build a connection and prepare you for the deeper work ahead. This includes finding ways to help you stay grounded and manage strong emotions, thoughts, or feelings that might come up. Then we reprocess specific memories we’ve identified to help reduce their emotional charge, so they feel less overwhelming and activating. The goal is to help you feel more grounded and free from old patterns.
What is Brainspotting?
Brainspotting was created by David Grand. It’s based on the idea that “where you look affects how you feel.” During Brainspotting, you focus your eyes on certain eye positions that connect to painful memories, feelings, or body sensations. You’re guided to notice these spots and connect with the emotions there, helping your brain process and heal from past trauma.
What is a Brainspotting session like?
We’ll start by talking about what you’d like to work on. Together, we’ll explore that topic as I guide you to tune inward and notice where you feel activation or distress in your body and any connected emotions. I’ll help you find an eye position or brainspot where that feeling or emotion is strongest. I invite you to stay curious about what comes up as you notice. My approach is gentle and quiet, holding space for you to connect deeply with your experience. This simple process can support healing of deep issues that have been holding you back.
How do I choose?
I’m happy to talk with you all about the differences between EMDR & Brainspotting so that you can decide what’s right for you. Both can support you to reach your goals for therapy.

Not necessarily. As humans, we have all experienced things that have scared, stressed or overwhelmed us. Essentially, that is what trauma is. However, many times people don’t come to therapy with a specific “trauma” in mind - but rather feelings of being stuck, exhausted, or discouraged. I can help you dig deeper and understand what’s beneath the surface when it comes to these feelings.
-
No, both EMDR and Brainspotting are effective even if you do not want to talk about the very specific details of what you experienced. It is important that you communicate to your therapist about how you are feeling and what is happening inside of you during the therapy session.
-
This is something that we can talk about during the consultation. If you are dealing with daily thoughts of suicide or wanting to die, needing crisis or emergency mental health support, or needing treatment for substance abuse - I would not recommend EMDR or Brainspotting at this time.
